I am currently in the process of working on the Jolly Roger sweater for my hubby. Currently using Lamb's Pride Cotton Fleece and using an H hook, it's rather fun! However, with the hdc I'm doing, there are holes! I don't know if this is due to the hook and yarn I'm using or what, but I've decided that this will be a spring/summer sweater for him rather than fall/winter...

Okay anyway, instead of the skull and crossbones, DH wants me to put a bottle cap on it. He thinks it would be neat if I were to use a different yarn than I'm using to make the sweater out of currently, which makes me sort of apprehensive...

Also, anyone know of a good way to grid out the bottle cap design so I can easily implement it in to the pattern?

...Haven't really deviated from a crochet pattern ever, so it sort of scares me. Any help in this would be highly appreciated!
