hi I'm working on this http://thekidneybean.wordpress.com/crochet-patterns/chromium-star-blanket/ and i figured out all the special stitches and haven't made any mistakes but it is coming out really ripply. is this normal? can i fix it by blocking once i finish?

Blocking might work, but usually the reason for rippling is that you have too many stitches in each round.

Can you post a picture of what you have so far?

This is what it looks like. I do have the correct number of stitches in each round according to the pattern

Oh dear... that is quite ruffled!  It really does look like there are too many stitches...

If you're sure about the stitch count, then maybe the hook you're using isn't a good size for this pattern (I'm just grasping at straws here).  Can you make up some swatches, to check?

Blocking *might* help.  Is there any way you can sort of block what you have and see if it flattens out?

I am making a similar blanket, and so far (round 15) I have no problems with rippling. The person who made the pattern though, advises to sc around, when you have the desired rounds... Not sure if you've done that already...
