I hope this is the best place to include this cushion. It contains a lot of embroidered letters, so I thought this would be okay. I made this cushion for my brother's birthday (a mere six months ago  Roll Eyes
I embroidered the letters and little tiny numbers to look like scrabble tiles. I laid out real tiles on a scrabble board to get the layout and colours right. I used quilter's 2 inch grid iron-on interfacing. all in all, it's pretty wonky and dodgy in places. (I like to think what I lack in technical skill I make up for in my lack of technical skill). About to send it to him.

The back is beautiful Kaffe Fasset fabric.

I put some piping on the envelope closure - just coz I love piping.
Here are a couple of shots of the process:

C and C welcome - there are many ways it could be a lot better... Tongue
thanx for looking!

lol JK! <3 I love this project! My bf and I play Scrabble a lot. I took a picture of the round that I won. Yes, one round. He's really good and has good luck drawing tiles. I hope your brother likes it!

Yeah, that's about my speed at Scrabble too! But I still enjoy it.

ummm... Embarrassed I won't argue, but... Anyhoo, it is recognisably scrabble. I found the sewing much more difficult to wrangle than I expected. I thought the grids would make it totally straightforward, but my cutting was a bit loopy so I had to really use a heavy hand to try to get the rows even. It is better in the middle than around the edges.

I saw one years ago. I thought it was on Craftster, but when I searched I just couldn't find it. To whoever posted a mother's day scrabble cushion, I am sorry I didn't link to your project. I just couldn't find it anywhere.  Sad
Thanks for your great feedback. I sent the cushion off, hope to hear from him in the next day or two.

Yeah, I did include 'loud' coz that's undeniable. Maybe I should do another one with 'bossy' , 'impatient' and 'sometimes really annoying'.  He is my brother, after all Grin

How funny, I was litterally about to go and start cutting out tiny pieces of fabric to make exactly this cushion! I hadn't thought of putting the embroidered letters on it though. Now I have to decide if I want to do a blank board or a game! Your version looks great! Thanks for showing us.
