I genuinely couldn't figure out what category this would go under, as it's not specifically designed to decorate the home, doesn't fit in under the 'fiber arts' categories, and is more 'macrame' than knitting or crochet. For reasons I'm still unsure, I made a giant friendship bracelet big enough to be a floor runner. It's about 18 inches wide and 4 feet long.

It's the same exact technique normally used to make friendship bracelets (numerous strands knotted around each other to form a fabric), just using larger 'thread'. I dyed the rope myself, which, considering what a pain it was I'm rather proud of. That and I managed to get all the stains off my bathroom.

Yep, giant friendship bracelet. There are a few more photos and a longer description here, if you care to read it.

Awesome job. I would not want to put it on my floor because I wouldn't want it to get dirty and stepped on!

This is awesome and so much fun. Good work. I barely have enough patience to finish a 10in long friendship bracelet
