so this is what i've been up to the past couple of months, hoarding up for the arrival of my son.

this one's going to live at MIL's house.

i'm not too thrilled with how this one came out, i'll probably end up removing the octopus.

closeup on octopus

these two are my favorites.

and this one's DH's favorite.

so i've got a couple weeks left till he's born, and DH insists i get more rest. so more goodies to come soon.

Those are all beautiful!  I like the octopus that you did.  I think my favorite is the lt green/dk green striped one.  I hope your birth goes easy!

Those are great, I especially like the first one!  Your baby is lucky to have such a crafty mama!

Wow.  You're baby is very lucky and going to be very snug.  I like the octopus, don't take him off, I think he is just sad because he doesn't have eyes yet.

Are you sure there isn't a knitting machine hidden in your belly instead of a baby? Because there is an insane amount of blankets here! Good for you for being so productive! Smiley Baby sure will be comfy!

WOW!
Great work!!

And now for questions ...
Wouldn't I like the pattern for the first and last blankets shown! Any chance?
Is that a crocheted edge/boundary on the blanket that's going to MIL's house?

the first one is just 2x3 ribbing and the last one is a block stitch, here's how to do it: http://knitting.about.com/od/stitchglossary/g/knit-purl-block.htm

and yes that's a crocheted edge, the edgings on all but the first and last are crocheted as well.

Your block stitch blanket should be the picture used to show what the stitch looks like!
I never would have guessed they were the same pattern.

Thanks for your quick reply.
(Hope the baby arrives easily.)

P.S. The first blanket - of 2x3 ribbing - looks to have some texture. In the picture anyway.
The narrow stripe of the dark colour, which repeats after the two blues each time, looks like a shadow. Very good colour positioning!
