Bag with divider, gusset and top zippered

Hi! I'd like your help with smashing a few tutorials together to one bag. I think I'm overthinking it, making me just stare at the screen now.
So what I'd like to do is a bag for my laptop, with a divider like this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=182493.0 (but it doesn't have to be zippered).  But I absolutely do not want a flap! I'd like the top to look something like this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=120625.0 with the zipper coming down for a bit on the side. But I could settle for this kind of top: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=85354.0 The important thing is a zippered top.
Thought to follow the first tutorial for the lining and the outside like the Fancy Man Purse but I'm totally stumped on how to sew the two together!
Thoughts? Inputs?
