Anyone know where I can find some long, shaggy brown fur? I need to make a sasquatch costume, thanks.

Yes, I'm a guy. I've a wife and two daughters, that explains why I'm here, lol.

Awesome! Your location isn't listed on your profile, but if you happen to be Canadian, most of the Fabriclands I've been to have had a selection of faux furs. One of my recent acquisitions is actually a length of black faux Mongolian goat hair. It's about 3 inches long and somewhat kinky. It's actually a REALLY good facsimile considering it's plastic! It looks almost exactly like this pillow:

Just ask at your local fabric store if they have any, and if not, if they know a local (or near-local) source. I imagine shipping could get ugly if you were to buy it online, because even the tiny piece I bought is deceptively heavy.

If you do have to buy online, this is a reputable website, though I've never personally bought from them:

The link is to some 1.5 inch furs.

I also found this faux Mongolian, but it's caramel coloured, not brown:

*Ludi posted while I was typing, and I think her find is very cool!*

Just to add another link:
I've ordered from them before and loved the fur I got, plus they cut generously. It is more expensive though. (Agreed that Ludi's find looks pretty great)

Thanks! This seems to be just what I'm looking for. I've a local Hancock Fabrics and a Hobby Lobby here, that's about it. There selection seems to be somewhat limited. My oldest daughter is wanting to make a bigfoot movie spoof. She's got the whole story line and everything. She just needs a costume. Thanks again.
