Hi all - first time in a while since I actually made a costume (or anything for that matter) for anyone...but boy! was this one a doozy!

A friend of mine who plays in a The Clash tribute band is a HUGE Mick Jones fan (she rocks his riffage on stage and all!!) and is trying to get some of his stagewear together. But her ultimate dream is have his red jumpsuit that he wore during The Clash's 1982 Oakland show.

I said, 'Yeah, sure...should be okay...', but deep down I was all, 'God, what did I get myself into?!' Luckily, I did a bit of research in it *as I have made jumpsuits for work before*, but to make something with a front zip, trouser pockes, epaulettes, breast pockets...*whew!* It was going to be tricky, that was for damn sure. SHe was specific that the belt loops, pockets, and epaulettes had be on it - a few things that I absolutely HATE doing on any kind of item of clothing. :|

So, two days, a gajillion cups of coffee, and some swear words later, I finally tackled something that I thought I would never be able to do. I have a small, smug sense of accomplishment, so bear with me. Cheesy The picture of it isn't the best - the flash wasn't having any of it and decided to make it look like satin.....argh.

It's made out of a lightweight polycotton material - which is perfect for those who tend to rock out on stage. Smiley I tried to get most of the seams all felled so it would be a bit sturdy - mainy on the sides of the top, sleeves, waist, and back seam of the trousers.

Pocket detail....

Epaulette detail....

Breast pocket/belt loop/pop buttons detail....

So hopefully, it should fit her okay - I made sure it was a few inches bigger for her so that she'll have loads of space to move around. Smiley BUT FINGERS CROSSED!! Now I got this bad boy finished, I feel like I can tackle pretty much anything...well, almost anythng. Anything except anything to do with chiffion. BLAH.

-x-

**UPDATE - She reeeeeeeeally liked the jumpsuit and it fits! Result.**
