These are just lovely! I love the exposed spines. I might have to make some of these if only I could think of something worthy enough to go inside. Hmm...perhaps as a recipe book to match the rest of my kitchen? I always write in them anyhow, this might be perfect!

How a journal feels in your hands is very important to me -- you all get it don'tcha? A journal you are making art in HAS to feel good...it becomes such a part of you...it's where you go to express yourself, lose and then find yourself, a sanctuary of sorts really!

LimeRiot - I am so sorry it took so long to THANK YOU and answer your question!

I have had a lot of inquiries on the paper I use for the journal signatures. I swear by this paper...it is a 140 lb index stock. Put these words in google search: "Wausa index stock 140 lb"  and see if you can find a supplier in your 'hood! By the way, I have no affiliation with this company, nor do I profit from mentioning it I am fortunate to have a local supplier, which is a large paper company that supplies businesses and retail customers.

This paper takes a beating! And my personal art journals take a beating let me tell ya! The first thing to do with these pages of index stock is to either paint (with acrylics) BOTH SIDES, or gesso them. It will look like it is going to wrinkle at first --- but when both sides dry they are flat and smooth and will NOT wrinkle no matter what kind of abuse you give them  The index stock will take every medium you can throw it's way! I paint, use ink, collage...you name it...and the texture just gets better and better! I LOVE to layer...and the more paint I layer on this paper the more beautiful it becomes -- almost a leather like quality!!!! It will blow your ever lovin' mind!

Take a look at this page in my personal journal...look at the layers! I have painted this two-page spread with acrylics, glued collage pieces, stamped with inks, detailed with gel pens...and not a wrinkle...Seeing is believing, right? You will fall in love while art journaling on this paper!!!!!
