and as with everything I do, I always think big and bite off more then I really should. This afghan has been a year in the making with long breaks and hiding it form view when I got tired of it.
I do need to weave the ends in (I so regret not doing it as I went along!!!) and putting a simple border around the outside yet. But its usable and looks great on our bed.
The Kitty is Moki and that is the spot he sleeps in every night:)

Wow! I can imagine you put this aside several times, it's so much work. The result is worth it though!

I love it!  The colors make it very sharp to look at.  And hey, it's good that the cat likes it. Smiley

I hate weaving in ends, which is why I tend toward really big squares when I make grannies, so I feel your pain. Good job Smiley My mom had a cat that looked just like Moki but with a bit more orange; makes a nice model Smiley

That's so pretty!
It reminds me of the checkered flag at the Indy 500 but with the added twist of the variegated yarn squares for a neat looking punch.
Very nice!

That's a really lovely afghan.  I love that self-striping yarn, it keeps with the color scheme but gives it a nice pop.

And Moki is a very handsome kitty Smiley

I love the look of this afghan!  The variegated yarn really just adds and awesome punch to the design.  Plus your kitty is very adorable Smiley

beautiful afghan! I love working granny squares but I don't like taking time to actually put them together because weaving in the ends are a pain. Congrats on completing it in a year Smiley
One day I hope to make an afghan as beautiful as this.

I really really love that! You've inspired me, once I finish my many WIPs, I want to do a monochromatic afghan like that!

The colors are very sophisticated, and I love the way you used the variegated yarn to create a gingham look.  Really nice! Smiley
