After watching Gnomeo and Juliet, my almost-four-year-old decided he liked the red gnomes...and that he NEEDED a red gnome hat.

So I found a pattern here:
http://www.crookedmoonmama.com/2010/08/gnome-hat-patternwoo-hoo.html

And this is what I came up with:

I changed the pattern a little, did a 2x2 rib for 8 rows, and in total, knitted 22 rows instead of 16 before I stared decreasing...it ended up being perfectly sized.

Not only is this my 2nd even hat, but it's also only my 2nd time using the magic loop...so all in all, it could have been WAY worse  Grin

When I procreate one day I am totally making my children wear gnome hats.

For your second hat, it is amazing.  Not that I can knit, but still, it is very well done.

I think all kids need them, too, lol.

It takes away a little of his evil.  I mean, not "takes away" but I guess I notice it less when he's wearing a pointy hat haha...so it's good for his safety!
