I made this Blue Sun apron yesterday to get over my lingering disappointment that the series "Firefly" was canceled.

I tried to make this look a little "worn" and not so new, which I'm happy with on the stencil itself, but I think I'm going to dye the apron, maybe a greenish/tannish/brownish color, which will also help hide cooking and baking spills as well as the inevitable animal hair that seems to be all over everything, always.  Any suggestions on dye color would be VERY welcome!

My tracing paper shredded halfway through transferring it to cardstock, so the lettering was all done freehand.  It's a little off, but not too badly, and I'm pretty pleased. Smiley

I love this !!!  I agree about the dyeing though and I think a tan would look great.  Maybe even tea stain it so it has different shades.  Great job

I didn't even THINK about tea or coffee dying-- excellent idea, and since I HAVE those and I don't have actual dye... off I go to brew some staining beverages!

Thank you all so much for your love on this.  I'm so glad Firefly is on Netflix/DVD. I wish there were more episodes, but hey, I can always re-watch those 14, right? Smiley
