The bodice is my own design/ construction and the skirt portion is from an out of print Simplicity Pattern. I love this fabric by Robert Kaufman. Ever since the day I found it I HAD to make a dress. I am an avid black and white horror fan, so this is like my "chocolate and peanut butter."

and I had to have a matching purse !

I would wear it everyday! The bodice has front waist darts, bust darts, back darts to shape it. The neck and arms have self facings with interfacing. I am not a fan of fully lined bodices. They feel constricting to me. So I tend to just make facings for my bodices and jackets.
I love working with crazy prints. They are a challenge to style and wear. I am trying for print relief by designing a bodice that shows more skin on the upper portion in order to keep the print from overwhelming the face.
What do you think? does it work proportion wise?
I think it would even more so without black stockings on. It's just winter is so COLD! If you want to see more styling there's more modeling on the blog.

Your dress is a lot of fun and it's definitely one of a kind!  It seems like it fits your personality and it's very well made.

Great dress - looks good on you.
And I love the little touch of lace at the bottom!

(Love the fabric btw, I snatched up a bunch last time I came across it.)

gorgeous.  I love the red belt/handbag with it.  Proportion looks good, but might be even cuter a bit shorter.

This is just awesome! You look gorgeous in it and I just love the fabric (too bad you never find fabrics like that in Finland -I never did anyway). Great work! Keep going!

That dress looks lovely on you!  Smiley
The fabric is AMAZING and the red belt and the lace are really cute touches. The purse you made is really cute too.

Currently interested in doing a personal swap, I'm thinking retro-look/rockabilly clothing. Let me know if you'd be interested. ^_^
