I have a Papillion and Dachshund mix named Night and this is a genius idea. He's always burying himself in the couch blanket and cuddling very close. We found something similar to this at petsmart. It's a cat bed that's made out of a kinda fuzzy material and shaped like a bag. But the problem is that he's long so either the front half of his body gets cold or the butt end gets cold.
As I said before, this is genius and I think Night would love it. Definitely gonna make it.

I will definately be making some to donate to my local dog shelter. Winter is sneaking upon us here in Tennessee. A few swap committments, first...but then I will be off and running. I love making dog costumes, and this one makes even more sense than the sillies. Oh, and just had to use a pumpkin smilie  Wink

New idea: Queen of afterthough, here. I bet you could re-purpose sweaters this way. As long as the lining was a cotton or cotton/poly blend...for the toe nails. You will still be able to stuff little puppy in there without snags? Neat. A zipper could also work on them, but I don't know that you would really need it. Those tiny dogs would be easy enough to stuff in. I used to carry my tiny kitty in a pocket. So she didn't get underfoot when I was working around the house.  Roll Eyes

What a sweet idea to make some for the shelter. I love that. I'm sure it would make the shelter puppies feel extra special.

Repurposed sweaters - yes!!
