Okay...So i've never made a book before. So with some online help this is what I came up with-

Here's how I did it!

Getting started...I cut the cardboard about a centimeter bigger than the pages and just cut the spine to the width I thought would work, I didn't measure it.

I sewed the pages together. Or binded, whichever you'd like to call it. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

Gluing a paisley fabric to the covers!

I decided glue wasn't enough. I didn't want my book to fall apart so I reinforced with some masking tape!

Tea break!

Added some detail to the end pages

Of course I had to make something to decorate the front so I tried my hand at embroidery. I've never really embroidered before, or really payed attention to the right way to do it. I get too impatient for that sometimes so I just fudged it and did it how I thought would work. The trim is just some lacy ribbon I cut in half and glued to the ends. He looks a little funny...but... you could just say that's how I meant for it to look. lol.

Added some ribbon to the spine (a good way to cover up the imperfections Cheesy)

A tad sloppy...

thanks for looking!  Grin

Looks nice! And I like the bunny!
I've been wanting to make a book myself, thanks for the tips and info!

Questions- how did you make the spine? Is it different cardboard?
And did you sew the paper in sections and then put all the sections together?

Thanks again for sharing Smiley

Thank you! And no problem.

The cardboard I used for the spine is the same, I covered it with a thick type of scrapbooking paper to give it a little extra strength. I used masking tape to attach it to the covers, I figured it would let it be flexible. I also hot glued one strip of paper over the spine and covers at each end to give it a little more support. I sewed the pages from the outside in- I poked four holes with a thumbtack in the folded edge. I connected the sections by sewing through the last hole of one section of paper into another. Kind of hard for me to explain but I hope you get what I mean lol
