All my Christmas gifts were made this year, and I'm finally getting around to posting pics.  One item I'm particularly proud of is the amigurumi I made for my 9-year-old brother, a brain slug from Futurama.

I made a tie by attaching an extra-long length of yarn to the bottom, since it was way too heavy to attach to a headband, and he wouldn't have worn that kind of "girly" stuff, anyway.  I was worried he wouldn't like it, but he wore it most of the day and wouldn't even take it off for dinner  Cheesy

And he tried to make the dog wear it, too.  Roll Eyes

This is great!  I would have done elastic instead of yarn to hold it in place, but that's my only minor criticism.  My mom used to do this joke about a brain-eater starving to death on my head, that's what this reminds me of. I should make her one!

I wanted to do elastic but I didn't have any on hand and I finished this up at like 9pm on Christmas Eve Roll Eyes

Interestingly, on the first episode with the brain slugs in Futurama, one did "starve to death."  Cheesy

This is awesome! My family has a running joke about brain sucking aliens, too, and my mom and brothers would love something like this.

Thanks!  The pattern I linked has instructions for a big slug and a mini one that I think would go great on headbands (I only made the big one this time).
