I've been making quite a few things for my kitchen. I bake and cook a lot, so naturally I have way too many utensils. Ha! They definitely don't all fit in one crock and have started taking over my drawers. My husband brought home a case of old plastic containers for beanie babies that someone at his work was going to throw away. i have him trained to look for stuff! LOL!

Anyway, I primed and painted them then printed some words and graphics on my Silhouette and wrapped some fabric (old tablecloth) around the rims. Finished them off with some twine. I love how they came out and they are proving to be very very useful! Smiley I have a full tutorial on my blog here

Thanks for looking, hope you like them! Smiley

I adore these!  My "big utensil" drawer is getting difficult to shut these days...but of course I also lack counter space.  I'll have to do some thinking, but I really, really, really want these now!

Thanks so much everyone! I actually don't have a ton of counter space either. These fit nice and snug pushed back against the wall so I can still use the counter. I really appreciate all your compliments!! Smiley Smiley Smiley

These are so nice. I am like your husband when it comes to containers like that, just cannot bear to see them thrown away. You painting is so clean and the fabric really finishes them off nicely. You would never know they were a recon.

That is so cool! I may try to make those. When my family helps put up dishes (not that I am complaining about the help  Cheesy), I spend lots of time afterward trying to find my baking stuff. So this would be perfect.

That's brilliant! I'm using a (clean) flowerpot for all of my utensils and it gets a little snug in there sometimes. I'll have to think about how to utilize this idea!

these are beautiful, and a great idea! we have a lot of cooking stuff too, but i'm not sure we'd have enough for three separate containers. you've made me want to hoard even MORE stuff so i can make these! Smiley

I hate to think that these would have ended up in a landfill, especially after seeing how awesome you made them!  You did an amazing job with them - who would have thought something so 'junky' could have ended up so lovely!
