My bf and I are on an airsoft team (basically shooting people with plastic bb's, very similar to paintball except with more realistic weapons and scenarios), and our team hosts LARP-heavy games. We did a LARPsoft, if you will, based on the Fallout Universe (from the post-apocalyptic video games). I made our raider costumes, mostly out of upcycled clothing and materials. Here's what we had Smiley

My mask, made primarily of burlap:

Vest, found at Goodwill but torn to shreds, re-sewn, buttons changed, edges shredded, and a few shotgun shells blown through it (yes, really...)

One of my cuff/gauntlet thingies, made of faux leather, studs, and lots of hot glue

My boyfriend's shoulder armor, made of bike tires, screws, spikes, faux leather, and yes... lots of hot glue

Finished product all together

Action shot, minus the mask (I died trying to negotiate with bounty hunters... never a good idea)

I hope you like!

Hehe, thank you. That was the general consensus on the field, I was one of only 4 girls among the 200 people so I wanted to be a little intimidating ^.^

I know this is an old thread, but you look fierce! I love the idea of using bike tires for armor. Great job!

Thank you so much! We've been building new costumes for our upcoming Fallout LARP in July, I'll be sure to post those once they're all done!

Thanks! A really fun way to get into larping-type stuff is finding a local Airsoft group, such as Airsoft Pacific. There's also sword-type LARPing of course which is much more traditional but I like shooting people Cheesy

Why thank you! I think the best hair actually goes to our teammate Sam. I made her some multi-colored Kanekalon dreads and threw in a few feathers to boot Tongue
