I am giving my husband a beautiful A3 poster print for Valentine's day. It came in a large white cardboard envelope which was protecting it perfectly, so I thought I should just redecorate the outside rather than rewrapping it.
I stuck a red heart over the address, ready to write his name on, and made this "stamp" for the top right corner.
The stamp uses 2 contrasting pieces of paper and is great if you want to re-use an old envelope as you can make it any size for covering up existing post marks.
Here's a few pics of the process.
I used pinking shears with a zig-zag edge to cut the smaller stamp shape, and then used a steel ruler and craft knife to cut the inside border.
Then I cut out a small heart of the inside piece of paper...
And then a futher hollow heart shape from the remaining paper.
I arranged them, stuck them down with a gluestick, and cut out a number 1 for the corner.
I stuck the "stamp" in the top corner of the envelope, and here's how it looks. I hope this might inspire someone else with a similar wrapping dilemma.
