My daughter's room is decorated in carousels. A few years ago, I bought this pattern off ebay and this past fall, I finally got around to doing it! I worked on it almost every night for nearly three months and got it done just a day or two before Christmas. phew! It used 8 skeins of Red Heart and measures about four feet across.

It's a beautiful and unusual afghan that will be an heirloom one day!

Very cool. I love how it is all one color but uses dimensional stitches. Oh, and kudos for finishing a project just in time!

Thank you! Yes, it used front post and long double crochet to create the image of the horses. It was really fun watching the picture "appear" (although, in slow motion since I only managed to get about one or two rounds done per night!).

That is beautiful!!  I hope she loves it!

She did! It was so cute on Christmas morning -- she ran to it and exclaimed, "This is just what I've been wanting!" lol Like she had ever even conceived of such a thing before.  Cheesy

So pretty and unusual. Definately something that will be passed down through the generations.
