Last week a fellow team member and I made some helmet panties for roller derby team.  Our colors are black and teal.  We made two sets, so we can scrimmage amongst ourselves.  Not all covers are pictured, but we made a black-on-teal set and a teal-on-black set.

Thanks Thesingingllamas for the tip on where to get rad fabric!

Cheesy Love your two toned JAMMER STAR!  I've always wanted to attempt to make helmet panties, but our ref bought us two pairs as a gift. A skater's mom used one of the bought panties as a pattern, but it came out a little small and didn't cover all helmets very well.  Other than that, they looked snazzy.

But..... yours is very SNAZZY!

What is the name of the menew? Obviously, s/he likes helmet panties too.

Thanks, guys!  That's Sparks behind my helmet.   He made it difficult to take a picture because he kept getting in front of my helmet, trying to get my attention.

I decided to go with the bordered star because our star fabric alone seemed to blend in to the background too much.  I really wanted it to pop, and I think the shiny silver fabric fixed that nicely.  I used a pattern my captain found online.  It is the Three Panel Helmet Panty Pattern.  The instructions are great!  My blue star is the size the pattern calls for, and I enlarged it to six inches for the larger silver background star.
