I'm new to dog owning, but not to crafting and there's nothing can stop me from crafting for my canines.  So I've been making collar cozies, so they can have lots of cute collars without spending much money.  So far, they've all been made from leftovers of other projects.

This is our puppy, Betty.  She's 5.5 months old.

This is her sister, Olive, my step-dog.  She's 8 years old.

Not all their collar cozies match, but I couldn't resist making a few and this is the only Valentine-y fabric I have.

A few more collar cozies I made for them at the same time:

Cheery green with floral polka dots:

A cute floral stripe:

I can't find the good shot of Olive smiling at the camera with her collar cozy showing clearly.  Sad

I'm still working out how to get them to look just like I want and fit over the bulky plastic hardware on the big dog's collar.

Awwww, puppies!  Cheesy  How cute are they? Collars look fashionable as well. When I find some chicken print I will have to make one for my dog, Rooster. Great job!

Thanks!  So funny about your chicken print idea.  I did collar cozies from them based on their names, too!  Olives for Olive and peanuts for Betty, who is called "Peanut" by her papa.

We think they're pretty great looking ourselves.    Wink  Thanks!

This is a great idea.  I've seen seasonally printed collars at the pet store, but haven't wanted to spend the money.  These are brilliant and economical.

Wonderful pictures of Betty and Olive, too.  Flower, my dog who looks a lot like Olive, doesn't like to pose for photos.

Thank you!  I have to get photos of these dogs on the sly.  Because I knew I wanted to have shots of these particular collar cozies in time for Valentines Day and knew that Olive was going to her first mom's house for a week, I had to take their collars off every time they went out in the back yard for wrasslin' and then back on when they were resting between bouts in the house.  That way I could hopefully get picks before they got all muddy.  Wink
