I wish I had the time and the skill to join this swap-but the galleries have really inspired me. I want to dig out my fabric and leather scraps and make a steampunk one for my room now!

I was thinking if I get my other swaps finished up, I might like to try a practice one.

Anyone have any tips for beginners, maybe something you wish you knew before you began making these?

That it's addictive? Cheesy I would suggest to anyone just starting to maybe do a practice one first just so you're not too stressed out when it comes time to make one for your partner. But I do have a question in the sign-up that is based on skill level (are you a beginner, intermediate, or advanced quilter) and I match people based on experience first, then allergies and interests so if you're new to quilting you don't have to be worried about having a partner that is way more advanced.

I'm really tempted by this one.  Im a total beginner at quilting though.  I actually bought some fabric today to try one, so if that goes well I really hope to join.  Smiley
