This is my first proper post, eeep!!! Please forgive me if the links don't work, I am happier with a needle and thread, not copy and paste!!

I found these UNFORGIVABLE polyester trousers for a tenner, and knew that God had not intended them for this world. I didn't model them like this for fear that I would somehow become infected with their hideousness.

A close up of that yummy pattern:

A pair of scissors, a sewing machine and LOTS of tegan and sara later, my swingin' sixties dress was born!

I used some scraps from my stash, and a handy zip from an old skirt. Please excuse my knobbly knees and frighteningly pale skin, we don't get any sun in Ireland!

Now that's hip! It takes a certain woman to pull off that pattern as a pant, but you totally rock the dress version Cheesy

That is an amazing transformation, I can't get the thought of sweaty polyester trousers out of my mind, I mean who would wear the original garment, but the new dress you've made has some serious mod style. Love it.

P.s A tenner for those trousers, man I'm glad I moved to Canada where I can buy my ugly for $1 a piece!! I'd forgotten how expensive charity shops were.  Roll Eyes

ooop! thank you so much for the lovely comments! I know they were expensive, I got them in a vintage store, because everything in the charity shops was bizarrely tasteful... why is it that as soon as you look for something it's not there?!

Me in junior high.  I was a disturbed kid.  Grin

The pants really were awful, but I love that dress! Wonderful transformation. Smiley

You know what's scary? Those pants might have had a matching jacket at some point.

When in doubt, sauerkraut.
