Honeysuckle Rose Soap

This soap of mine came out great, although I wasn't too happy with the colors. Although Ann-Marie Faiola said she thought the colors looked 'retro,' so that made me feel a lot better about it! I absolutely LOVE the scent combo.

I used Anne-Marie's 'Lots of Lather' recipe to make it, resized for my 4.5 lb mold. Here's the recipe:

28.15 oz (798 g) Palm Oil
28.15 oz (798 g) Olive Oil
3.50 oz (99 g) Castor Oil
7.95 oz (225 g) Sodium Hydroxide
19.15 oz (542 g) Water
1.75 oz (49 g) SweetCakes’ True Rose FO
2.0 oz (57 g) Wholesale Supplies Plus’s Wild Honeysuckle FO
1 tsp Wholesale Supplies Plus’s Yellow Oxide Pigment Powder
2 tsp Brambleberry’s Electric Bubblegum Colorant

I'm getting a little bit better at the aesthetics of soap!

Lovely!  Did you have any issues with the rose scent thickening/curdling the batch?  I love all rose scents, but I'm a little leery of what it can do to the batter..

It's interesting that you ask that, Mandyhello, because the first time I used the scent, it did rice on me (although fairly mildly, it wasn't evident in the finished soap). This time I had no problems with ricing, though, and I think the reason is because I soaped at a much lower temperature -- the first time I soaped at 110, and the second time (this time) I soaped at 90. I've found that I have much better results, overall, if I'm patient and wait 'til everything gets to about 90.

I've been teaching myself to be patient and let everything get to almost room temperature these days..  I try to mix the lye and water and just walk away for a while.  Same with the melted oils.  Ok, thanks, I'll give it a shot!  I love all those floral scents..

Looks great..Bet it smells wonderful..I'm too chicken to try soapmaking..Seems dangerous...
