This is my first proper post, eeep!!! Please forgive me if the links don't work, I am happier with a needle and thread, not copy and paste!!

I found these UNFORGIVABLE polyester trousers for a tenner, and knew that God had not intended them for this world. I didn't model them like this for fear that I would somehow become infected with their hideousness.

A close up of that yummy pattern:

A pair of scissors, a sewing machine and LOTS of tegan and sara later, my swingin' sixties dress was born!

I used some scraps from my stash, and a handy zip from an old skirt. Please excuse my knobbly knees and frighteningly pale skin, we don't get any sun in Ireland!

That is an amazing transformation, I can't get the thought of sweaty polyester trousers out of my mind, I mean who would wear the original garment, but the new dress you've made has some serious mod style. Love it.

P.s A tenner for those trousers, man I'm glad I moved to Canada where I can buy my ugly for $1 a piece!! I'd forgotten how expensive charity shops were.  Roll Eyes

even though the pattern is exactly the same Im still having trouble believing that that awesome dress used to be those hideous trousers! what a transformation- love it!

ooop! thank you so much for the lovely comments! I know they were expensive, I got them in a vintage store, because everything in the charity shops was bizarrely tasteful... why is it that as soon as you look for something it's not there?!

Me in junior high.  I was a disturbed kid.  Grin

The pants really were awful, but I love that dress! Wonderful transformation. Smiley

You know what's scary? Those pants might have had a matching jacket at some point.
