A loooong time ago my sister picked out some red polka dot fabric and wanted me to make her a halter neck dress.  she picked a pattern, then changed her mind and ended up getting a more expensive, out of print one, Simplicity 3780 which is a reinvention of a vintage pattern (actually I like this one better than the original but it was very annoying to have her change her mind!)

It has a very pretty neckline and gathered bust, I will have to make a version for myself I reckon!

I'm pretty pleased with the invisible zip in the back, though I did find a better way of putting them in next time which I think will help with the puckering at the bottom.  I did have a disaster with this when my overlocker ripped it in the back but I have put some interfacing on the inside and it doesn't look too bad.  It will most likely be covered with a belt anyway.

I also made a sweet little hair clip to go with it from fabric yo-yos, this is the first time I have made them and I really like them!  The cherry button is also on the halter neck strap to fasten it at the back of the neck as it doesn't have long ties like most, which is a feature I like.

Thank you guys!  I got the pattern from ebay in the end, it is out of print so it is difficult to find.
