Good evening my dear Crafterstonians! Here is my entry for the latest Craft Challenge...
First, the cringe-worthy before pic:

Can you just picture the grotesque orange linoleum that covered the floor of the kitchen this once housed? The most *perfect* shade of puke green "avocado" appliances that so perfectly accessorized this very breadbox? I know you can. We've all had those aunts/grandparents in our lives somewhere. Mine was Great-Great-Aunt Ella (or La-La as we called her). I dedicate this recon to her and her awful kitchen... even if it produced the best waffles on the planet.

A close-up of the masterpiece that I call "El Pollo de la Muerte"!

Don't let the flowers fool you, he is a master of death and destruction. Just look at those beady little eyes for the truth. But I... I have conquered the Pollo.
For only $2.99, El Pollo was mine....

Some FABULOUS purple spraypaint, bling-blingy rhinestones, decadent stickers, scrapbooking embellishments/paper, ribbon, some cork coaster backs, a new cabinet knob and a piece of metal sheeting later... I give you my new Desk Organizer/Message Center!

This picture is the closest to the true color. It's definitely purple and not as pink-hued as the other photos try to show it.

It will eventually take up residence in my craft room. The two baskets and pen can inside helping corral stray tools that don't have another home at present or that need to be kept close by at all times.

Thanks for looking and listening to the tale of El Pollo and his untimely demise.
