lamp attacked with glue gun!

This challenge was well timed for me. I have a new craft room in the basement with barely any light. Needed some serious lampage.
So I went to the thrift store and found this poor soul for $3. It was also 1/2 price day so I gave it a new home for a whopping 1.50! The lamp had a big crack in the middle of the base otherwise not to bad on its own.



But this being my first craft room that I can do whatever I want with and close the door I wanted to be a bit kitchy crafty with it.

I had some yarn leftover from a dress I knitted my daughter that I loved and a glue gun that hadn't seen the light of day since my wedding 6 years ago. I set to work.



The yarn gluing was slow going but yesterday I made some real headway and got it done. Today I did the shade which was some spray adhesive and images off the internet of russian nesting dolls (which I love but don't have space for).



I really like the outcome and it adds some neat light to my craft room!

looks very good! to make the pattern did you have to tie off the yarn on every row? if you did that would have killed me! it looks amazing anyways!i wish you luck on your crafting endeavours by the light of your new seriously awesome lamp!

OHMYWORD!!! A while back, I'd picked up a skein of variegated yarn that matches my sofa -- purple and green (not as horrible as it sounds!) -- simply because I'd actually found SOMETHING that matches my sofa.  I'd had no idea what to do with it, but NOW I DO!!! 

THIS gets my vote!  BRAVO!!!
