Oh my gosh! I always see things here that I figure I'll get around to making eventually, but this one I'm going to start on today!

I live in the Eastern Sierra, and these rocks are everywhere! I mean, everywhere! I've been looking for an outing with a purpose, and rock gathering is always a good one. Plus, I have a friend who's house is perfect for this, and it's actually manly enough for him.

Great project and excellent idea! Thanks for posting, and thanks for the tutorial!

Very nice, I must make one!  Where did you see this originally, and how much moola did you save.

This is fantastic! I've been drafting out plans for making a rock topped altar, so I'm glad to see something similar, to know that it can work! It looks so cool, and I'm super excited now about making my own tabletop!

The original that I saw was actually on the craftgrll website, so it wasn't something for sale.  Just another person had crafted it, like me and gave me inspiration.  I bet they would be expensive at other stores though!!  The mat is really heavy so it would cost a ton to ship too!!

Thanks for all the compliments!! I would love to see anyone else's creation/interpretation!!!

I LOVE the look of river rocks.  I can't wait to make this project.  I've seen this things before, as placemats and doormats...and there so expensive to purchase.  But this is an awesome and affordable approach to making it yourself.
Thanks for sharing.
