I made this for my teenage daughter. We recently moved back into this house (long story LOL) and she wanted to paint her room. She wanted purple, so we went with two shades, one dark shade for an accent wall and the other a lighter shade for the other three walls. All her trim is in white, then she has black accents (like her mirror, clock, etc). Bit by bit we've been adding things to her room. She wanted something for the accent wall. Because it was dark we decided it needed to have a good contrast. I had found a design on a pillowcase on the West Elm website and she really liked it. So I used the little tubs of paint samples we had purchased to pick out her colors, some black acrylic paint and I mixed some black with white to get some gray in there as well. I painted the design on two white canvases I got from Michael's on sale. She loves it! There's a full tutorial on my blog here http://www.craftsbyamanda.com/2010/12/circle-tree-modern-art.html that also has the inspired by photo and step by step photos, but you get the jist from above Smiley

These really caught my eye. I love the color choice, and the contrast between the white and the dark purple wall is uber awesome. NICE job Smiley

Thank yo Adrienne! It was so easy too. My daughter's friends compliment it all the time and she's really happy with it. We plan to do some 3D birds on the wall using paper too since she really likes the art there, but the rest of the wall is pretty bare.
