What do you think about posting two topics threads for each challenge?  One can be for comments that people make prior to the posting of the finished objects and the other could be where finished objects are put.  It just seems that for the first craft challege there are already 12 pages of comments.  If I didn't know that ahead of time, when I went to check out the FO's I would be stuck skimming through many pages to get to what I want to see.  OR, restrict comments in the thread to "worthwhile" comments.  (I know, I know...who wants to judge what's considered worthwhile?)

The craft challenges are such a great idea but I don't really want to get stuck reading hundreds of posts that say "great idea...I just went to the store!".  As happy as I am that these challenges are inspiring people...I don't need to know that they just went shopping.  I really just want to see the results and be inspired myself.

Maybe that's just me... Undecided

I think I remember Leah saying that she would clear all the posts when it's time to show the finished objects.

Ha ha. No problem gaiter_girl.  The threads get cleaned up at two different points:

1. when the challenge entry period begins
2. when the challenge entries are all submitted and voting begins

So basically I think I get your drift and it's all covered!  I thought about not allowing comments at all OR having a separate thread for them.  But I figured it would be easier to allow them and then clean them up at the appropriate times.

And on another note...  Might I add that when I saw you thread entitled Craft Challenge board beef I honestly thought someone was proposing a challenge where you make stuff out of beef.  I was really grossed out for a second there! Wink

I'm grossed out, but intrigued  Wink

army ant traps?
Dog-attack-me purse?
fly attractant for the electronic fly zapper?
unwanted guest deterrent? put it in a satchet and stuff it under the mattress in the guest room.
vampire bat lures?
fun for the whole family maggot farm? *for those who think ants are too blah*

 Wink

I should definitely go apply my creativity in more productive endeavours !
