Pillows! Peacocks! Love! Hearts! and applique!

I wanted to do something with the bajillion bits of fabric that I have and I decided because I had all this lustrous blue from costumes in the past and an amazing piece of deep teal velvet (had for about 5 years now..) I would make something with them for this Valentines day.  I started by doodling a pattern and then I picked out all the different fabrics for the feathers, branches and leaves.

I actually used quite a bit of the bad sides of fabric because they looked more inline with my colour scheme. I also had a bunch of embroidered silks that I was able to use on this for the feathers. I had seen a couple of "rough" edge appliques that I really enjoyed so I thought I would do it like that.

Once I had the peacocks on the fabric, I added some embroidery for details on the feathers.

My Scotty dog decided to get into the picture while I was taking this photo, he is such a diva, I was paying more attention to the pillow than him.

as more pictures were requested..

You should enter this in the Sew Mama Sew pillow contest this month.
