Whew, Catielove that's a lot of yardage?  What are you going to make with it?

I have not spun a single thing in 2011.  How is this possible?  Gotta get out of this slump!

I'm not slacking! My camera is. Hippie, you are amazing as always. Catielove, your colors make me happy.

Here's what I spun this week. The rest of the January Diamond Club from Knit on Etsy. About 2 oz. This one wasn't as well mixed so it came out pretty much pink and green split down the middle.

Then after I set the twist, I decided to ply it with last weeks, the first part of the diamond club. And it came out pretty much right when the first bobbin was full, the pink was done so the first looks like it was just plied with pink and the second just plied with Green. I like it. I was thinking about sending the green to my brothers MIL but probably not because *drama* About 85 yards of each.

And it doesn't look so Christmas-y now! Yay!
That's it.

Oh, but I did make a purchase of a niddy noddy and some wool combs yesterday so I'm thinking in about 2 weeks you might be getting a treat of some yarn made from some fleece I prepped myself. Oh joy!

.

Not a single clue. I have a ton of handspun... not a lot of projects. lol I like spinning much more than I like knitting and crocheting. I might actually break this in half and ply them together. It's not a very strong yarn. :/

The Angry Hippie, I love them all! Especially the first one. I love the colors together.

Catielove, that is gorgeous! It's so cheerful!

jexxican, very pretty. I think it came out great. I like long color changes.

Okay, here's mine. The yellow is two singles of dye sopper wool from Sheep Shed, and some fun fur from my stash. I still need to set the twist. I'm kind of waiting until all the snow days are over, and my house is quiet(er) again before I mess with wetting my yarn. If I get distracted, I could felt something. The plyed stuff on the bobbin is all Sheep shed dye soppers/mill ends, the pinkish single is an experiment with carding some threads from a silky thrifted shirt into the wool. It's a synthetic fiber, but I loved the color and shine. Plus, I got the shirt for 25 cents. I sandwiched the threads between two thin layers of wool, some white, some pink. See below. I don't know what the heck I am doing, but I sure am having fun!  Cheesy

Marshmallow Peeps and Easter Grass (I am SO sick of winter!)

Sorry some of these photos are blurry and washed out. Dreary winter lighting conditions.

I like plying, but I am having problems with the lazy Kate on the bottom of the Babe. I can see the need for a tensioned Kate. I may rig one up out of stuff in my house and see it that helps. Smiley

Lark, thank you for the carder shots! What a great idea! I will get more creative in my spinning one of these days. You inspire me!

Shouldn't this be called the FF "yarn" instead of "thread?"

Thanks, jexxican. I really liked spinning a gorgeous batt that I got from Freestyle that had all kinds of silky goodies in it. I wanted more fun things to spin, and don't have money in my budget right now for firestar, silk, etc. for carding in. I can swing thrift shop prices, though.  Smiley

I think this will be a two ply yarn when it is done. Not quite sure yet. Maybe I'll have it done in time for next FF.
