So, here is what I made. A sort of fairy land paper theatre.

Here is what I started with... a baby shelf frame thingy.

Okay, it's not ugliest thing in the whole wide world but it had actual dirt on it, and glow in the dark stars.

I was eyeing a gorgeous old wooden silverware box but it was ten whole dollars! This was $2. Sold.

I started by covering the thing in old torn up book pages and giving it a coat of white paint.

Next I added some columns and spent about a week deciding what the heck I was going to do.

Finally I added some birds and a tree.

I grunged it up a bit ...

Then kept working until I was happy.

And that's my fairyland theatre! Yay for recycling and re-use it shops Smiley

P.S. I totally forgot to mention that the amazingly talented cackle suggested a paper theatre swap in December... take a look here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=367032.msg4312204#msg4312204 and jump on board to make your own!

Wow.  I actually *gasp*ed when I saw this! Absolutely love the birds with the snails and columns.
I picked up the outside of an antique pendulum clock (sans guts,) to my daughter's neverending disapproval.  I haven't decided yet what to do with it, but you've kind of got my gears moving a little  Smiley  Wow, again.
