I was recently wandering my local Salvation Army store when I was hit by an epiphany. There before me was a child's dress up boa and all I could think of were angel wings. Now, I've never made angel wings for my dolls before, but who cares? Epiphanies don't care! So I began to search the store...I needed skin, dress, hair, beads, wire...could I find it all here?

Why yes, yes I can (sorry about the colour. Lighting at my place stinks for photos). I've got the boa. plus a half bag of larger white feathers, a half spools worth of 20 gauge wire and some shenille stems, and unopened bag of seed beads/crystal beads/plastic pearls, a white tee shirt and a rather nasty blue lace and fabric concoction that i'm told is a shirt. The only piece I didn't buy and isn't pictured is a jacket that I had on hand that went into making the dress.

Here she is about halfway done. The dress is almost complete and if you look by her feet you will see her partially completed head...Kinda creepy...

And here she is! She is completely freestanding, with a partial armature made from the wire and little bags filled with sugar that i used to weigh down her feet. The chenille stems make her fingers articulated and more wire went into making her wings. They're a lot poofier than I first imagined but I like them.

You can kind of see the pearls in her hair here. I got the yarm for her hair at the thrift store too, but I'm not sure if you can see it in the first pic. It's long and braided in the back, but no pic of that.

This is the best pic I could get of her peyote stitch cuffs made with seed beads. They were probably the hardest thing to do since I don't use beads much.

Any way, hope you like! Grin

Wow, you really achieved a transformation! The doll is beautiful; no one would know she was conceived at the Salvation Army.  Cheesy
