I am a first year teacher in Massachusetts, which means I've been on a demi-vacation since the week after Christmas break ended. So many snow days! I've spent most of these snow days playing catch up (as first year teachers ALWAYS need to play catch up) but today I had time to make something.

I made a summer shirt using Euphoriaa's tutorial. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=248308.msg2755137#msg2755137

It has me dreaming of warm weather in the midst of a blizzard! The pattern has little sugar skulls on it. Also, don't mind the winter elbow eczema. New England sucks!

The fabric was SO flimsy and SO stretchy. It was hard just to get it to fold in half! Using a rotary cutter helped BIG TIME.

This is adorable! We just got hit with that awful winter storm, and happy, cheerful summer clothes like this top have put me in the best mood ever!

Oh, and about the dry winter skin-- give Bag Balm a try. It's gooey and smells weird, but works SO well!!!!

Bag Balm, eh? The stuff with the cow print? I'll give it a whirl. Thanks!

Around here, it's in a square green tin, with a cow on it.  The cow print one might be the same, I'm not sure.

It's crazy, but I use it for everything except around my mouth/eyes.  No telling where those cows have been!  Anyways, I find it's awesome on my hands after working with rough fabrics or yarns ( crocheting twine is NOT easy on the skin) or gardening or working outside in the wind.

Anyways.  Back on the topic of your luuuuurvely shirt, and my apologies if this is too personal, but does it hide your bra well?  I'd love to make one like this, but I'm pretty busty and don't want my much-needed underthings visible.

I gotta get some of that stuff.

Anyway it hides my bra very well, but I haven't actually worn it with a bra other than the one I was wearing when I fit the shirt. I placed the straps to be directly over my bra strap, but as the shirt straps are thicker than bra straps I imagine changing the bra wouldn't be a problem. I may not look it, but I'm a 34 E! (According to Intimacy, the bra fit specialists, located in Copley Place. That store is AWESOME.)
