Hi guys! A bit of backstory before the pictures.
I'm a senior in high school and I have been finishing up all of my college applications (which I may have procrastinated on a bit), and since I'm looking to study costume design, I had to send in a portfolio of around 10 recent works as well. I managed to pull about half from things I had made for various events- prom, halloween, anime conventions, etc, but I still had to come up with a few designs.
So without any further ado, here is my favorite dress, the Mermaid Dress, modeled by my lovely friend Lauren  Cheesy

Doesn't she look pretty?

Funny story, though. We took the pictures at this teeny tiny beach where no one ever goes, and as you can tell from the images, the top is a little awkward to put on. And of course, the one day we choose to go, paddlers show up. They gave us an awkward smile before leaving us to take our pictures.

And another dress I made, for good measure. This one was modeled by another dear friend of mine, Asia. The dress is what I imagine Belle's ballgown (from Beauty and the Beast Cheesy!) would look in the modern day.

You can see a little more detail of the dress itself here. The bust took foooooooorever to fit, but I promise it just looks wonky here XD

And the petticoat! That thing was a monstrosity to sew D: It was gathering after gathering after gathering of tulle.

And that's all for now, folks! I'll post up the rest of the dresses/outfits in the next few days (:
Have a good day!

Those are lovely - Belle was one of my favourite characters when I was little and it definitely reminds me of her dress

If you say 'plz' because it's shorter than 'please',I'll say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

I love both of these. They are so gorgeous and well-constructed!

Did you sew on the scales on the mermaid dress?

Thanks everyone (: And sarahnade, the scales near the bottom and near the top are sewn on, but otherwise, I simply glued them on with hot glue.

They're made out of light blue faux leather. It was intended to go towards a laptop bag, but, well, it didn't XD

I'm sure with a portfolio like this you'll have no trouble getting into college, your dresses are gorgeous!

Athena: Today I was beat in a weaving contest by a mortal, so I threw a little bit of a hissy fit at her, so she hung herself...long story short she's a spider and everyone thinks I'm a bitch. FML
