First post on this forum - pencil and chalk projects from my art class

I'm still shy, but I decided to share waht I've been up to in my art class for dummies
Shown in chronological order
 3  done on a very limited palette of colored pencils




and these are chalk pastels




Your comments and (gentle?) criticism will be most welcome!

I think you did very well for a beginner!
I bet you will become better and better with more practice.
The middle pastel one is my favorite.
The shapes are done very well and the blended colours of the terra cotta pot are perfect!

If this is your beginning, you are showing a sense of colour and material! Well done.
Prettiest to me is the purple lily.

Looking forward to your development cos these are very pleasant to look at.

These are lovely! "Art class for dummies" made me laugh...I should take one, I sure wish I could make art like this. Very nice job! Love the iris.

You're doing great for a beginner.  I can see a great start here.  Keep practicing, you just might be surprised at how much you'll progress.     I really like the chalk pastels, you did a great job blending and keeping your colors bright.  Keep an eye on balance in your composition, that's the only suggestion I would make.

Wow thank you all for the positive response. I have one more session of chalk pastel then 4  of pen and ink...then I'll be on my own...very daunting prospect. How do you keep your inspiration / motivation?

You have a natural talent that is already developing beautifully. The last work is gorgeous!

Lovely. The iris is very nice, and the orange. They are my favorite. No criticism of any kind here, they are beautiful and I hope you are enjoying your class and drawing.
