Anyone ever get just absolutely set on an idea but then it doesn't work in execution and just get stuck?
That's where I am right now. Having trouble getting past that first idea. Grr.

I was planning on getting so much done of my bus rides to and from home for reading week, but instead, I literally didn't make a single stitch.

For the life of me I could not get my image to transfer dark enough to see it to stitch so I am really free handing it all the way around on this hoop..I have a lot done today in outline so I am tickled shirtless on the way it is coming along as I am not a pro like some of the girls here and haha free hand is something else....

Cant get the transfer crayon pencil thing dark enough...any ideas for this??

I don't know, I am using the transfer paper and it isn't staying long enough for me to see, so I am also doing some free handing.

I've been there. I think it's best to just walk away, not overthink it and let inspiration find you.

babalina, have you considered trying decorator chalks? I haven't tried it myself but xperimental used them for her hoop in round 1 and the colors turned out so lovely. You can see the hoop she made on the first page of the R1 gallery here:

Her explanation is on the second page.

Oh sorry, babalina. I read your question too fast and thought you were asking about crayon tinting  Undecided.

For transfer pencils, I use the red pencils and embroidery transfer paper. I go over the lines of my design again and again and again until it's really prominent. Then I keep the iron pressed to the paper and fabric for lengths of time that are probably not very safe Smiley. It's a miracle that I haven't burned fabric in the past.
