Seeking scraps! I'm in need of a variety of white on white scraps. (2.5inch square minimum) for pixel quilts. Have any? Swap for? PM me! Smiley

I am so excited! This is the first time I've ever done a swap where my partner finished before me!

Headed to the post office!! Oh my!!

I'm catching up on the thread -
OGD, I used the 3m strips for my wall as well! Worked great!

I love blending filament!  I used it on the "drink me" bottle for Fiorinda in round 3 to add some wicked sparkle to the red drink.

I also haven't had a ton of issues with metallic thread, but I generally just use it in little touches...

On the hoop front, I'm still in the idea stage...I have one which I think will be cute (but not cutesy stargardener!) but I'm missing the wow factor I had hoped for.  So, still pondering....

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

i ordered the embroidery stitch bible from amazon - thought it would be interesting to see what "serious" embroiderers are up to.... i think i just had a heart attack just looking thru the table of contents!

made a good start today, the fabric Im working on is a nightmare to stitch on but it should look pretty awesome when finished.

Im kinda feeling like the idea I have gone with is a little random, I hope my partner likes random  Cheesy

I consulted the boyfriend today as to which hoop size would work best and we both agreed, I think I'm slowly but surely turning him towards being crafty Tongue

ha! mine took me to joann's the other day, i was picking out floss at one end of the aisle, and he said "i'll go pick out the hoops!" i (mentally) went "eee." and didn't want to say, "no, i'll do it." and hurt his feelings. a few minutes later, he walks back over with exactly what i was wanting. i was so proud of him. it was some crafty e.s.p.

I stopped by Michael's today to find hoops and they didn't have ANY that I wanted.  All the wooden ones were either the 2 inch size or the 18 inches ones, and the rest were plastic and like bright pink and green which would not work Sad  I will have to keep looking. I have like 6 Michaels around plus JoAnn's but I think the others have about the same selection.  I'm annoyed.

@Edie, I had the same problem!  I went to three different stores (Michael's, Joann's, and a local embroidery store) and eventually found hoops at my local 5&10.  Try the least expected.

Question time: So for those of you who are doing connected hoops are you planning on connecting them before you finish the backs or after?  I was going to do it before (actually in the middle of it) when my mom said: "NOOOOO!  If you continue on while you're doing the backs everything will be flopping around." Ugh, she's so right.  But I'm worried if I do it later my stitches will come out wonky because I'll be worried about not hitting my back fabric.  Any suggestions?
