I have an idea for my lovely partner, but I'm waiting to head back to make sure it'll be perfect. I also have a couple back up ideas though... Seriously- I could probably make ten hoops for her and still have ideas left. We like a lot of the same things. Smiley

QUESTION:
would you be secretly miffed if one of the diptych hoops you recieved was super small (2 in)  Huh

I've got an idea, but I'm not sure, I'm thinking about using an oval hoop (6 1/2in at widest part) and a teensy 2 inch one to go with it... it works in my head as a concept with the design, but would that annoy you if you recieved that?

kudos to anyone whose successfully keeping up with this thread.

Wow, I finally had time to find out more about my partner and I think I might be a bit intimidated: that is some cool embroidery (she has a degree in embroidery Shocked).  I have ideas already but I might just stitch something for myself first to test some stitches.

No way! I'd be totally cool with it if it goes with the plan! My two cents!

i vote "nothing wrong with mismatched hoops sizes  Smiley

i was thinking about doing   a 4 and an 8 but since then have decided 2 7s will show the white space much much better.

Seeking scraps! I'm in need of a variety of white on white scraps. (2.5inch square minimum) for pixel quilts. Have any? Swap for? PM me! Smiley

Funny! I'm doing 2 8" hoops for you, so at least I know I'm making something roughly equivalent! I always worry about not doing enough for my partners. :x But I have to say, I am super duper loving how the first hoop is coming out for you so far!

I'm having so much trouble coming up with an idea, not for a lack of ideas, but for having too many! I need to narrow it down and choose by Friday because I'll be taking a 6 hour bus ride, and that's the perfect opportunity to get a huge chunk of this done.
