Ah! This makes much more sense, now...I was thinking when I saw the yarn earlier, Do they actually BREED them in NZ?! And who has to harvest the fiber from those mean little animals?    So, good, the possum yarn industry is the result of species population control rather than proliferation.

Yes indeed, it is a way of making a wonderful product out of one of the worst ecological disaster species here. Our possums do have very nice fur - it's hollow, so very light and warm. And btw, it is a different species (Australian brushtail possum) from the North American possum. I'm happy for Craftsters to PM me if they want to know more about trying it.

I hope it's okay with our organizers if I post this here . These projects were a spawn of something from this gallery so I figured it would be alright.

onegroovyday and I like to chat and email pictures and messages back and forth while we work on our swap items. Well, she sent me a picture of the bowl she made for sheepBlue in this swap and I immediately demanded that she make me one! Actually, I gushed over it so much that she kindly offerred to create my own for me .

It arrived today and it's AMAZING!! The colors and size is perfect and I really couldn't love it more. It's going to be used to organize all of my sewing stuff that's currently floating around my desk and constantly getting misplaced.




And as if that weren't enough, she also made me a little hoopla that I've been wanting FOREVER!!



Plus I also got some mini chocolate eggs! My favorite.
