I like how you did the binding. Is there a name for that?

There's isn't a binding per se. It's called a knife turned edge. The rug backing is sewn on like a facing only it's sewn almost all the way around with right sides facing and then turned. Smiley

knife turned edge sounds soooo much nicer than birthing  which is what i have always heard that method referred as... Wink

Seeking scraps! I'm in need of a variety of white on white scraps. (2.5inch square minimum) for pixel quilts. Have any? Swap for? PM me! Smiley

Pretty colors!

I love the mug too, too much!

As you sew, so shall you rip. Don't fear the ripper.

Holy Mackerel, Batman!!!!!!
My partner Carrie, carrieme, is a phenomenal seamstress. I am not so great at sewing and now I feel like mine was not so great. Sad
This is AMAZING though.

The back.... lovely. Ack!

The front. How cute is that? And look at those goodies. This will a) keep me well hydrated at work at b) keep my work desk free of coffee and tea rings! And it will brighten things up around my dingy cubicle.

The sewing work and applique are just phenomenal. I feel like SUCH a newbie. I truy love this, and I hope she loves mine, we probably spent the same amount of time too. Smiley (even though mine probably looks like it was sewn by a visually impaired chimpanzee)

So many fab mug rugs! I received from Fontiua today and was super excited to add my gorgeous rug to the mix, but Crafster photo hosting keeps giving me error messages! Grr! It is my favorite- polka dots- in red and black to match my living room.  I will post pics when my computer decides to play nice, but Fontiua, if you'd liek to post some in the mean time, feel free. I will have to have a special cup of tea on it tonight Smiley

I received my second mug rug today, from the lovely goldsheepbowl! I looked up the tracking number, and it said it had been delivered, but it wasn't on my desk... I started to get impatient. Went into a meeting, came out 20minutes later, and there it was! It's like magic.

Here's the pictures- I love it so much!

The front- the colours are fantastic, and MORE Amy Butler fabric (honestly, I can never ever ever have enough Cheesy ). Goldsheepbowl's piecing is fantastic... puts mint to shame!

The back-- isn't the fabric so cute?

In use-- that mug is huge (and the Dallas one in the picture of the rug WhiteSheep sent is too), so both my rugs are a great size!

Thanks again, goldsheepbowl! I love it!!

EEEK! SO EXCITED! I check the DC # on my Mug Rug, and it said that my package arrived today to the in-town post office Yesterday! That means it was probably delivered to the campus today, which means, if I was lucky enough, It might even have arrived at my dorm today!!! (The Post office Delivers to our campus mail system, which sometimes dosent understand the time sensitivity of some packages...)
