I received from CraftyDiem!  She based the mug rug on one from my Wists and I'm in love!

Close up detail of her hand stitching:

The colors are a little off on the detail shot, but you get the idea.
Thank you, CraftyDiem!  It's so gorgeous!

I received my mug rug for maremare today! It's perfect and I love it!

Front:

Back:

And with my giant mug:

It's wonderful! That mug is huge and I like that there's enough room for a soup mug plus some crackers Smiley  The design was inspired by a rug on my wists and the colors are perfect for my red and black kitchen!  Plus, I really dig the quilting!
Thank you so much MareMare! Grin

At first I thought a person probably only needs 2 or 3 mug rugs to get by but seeing all of the incredible work everyone is doing makes me realize that I need a gazillion mug rugs...at least!

I'm so enjoying the diversity of designs, colors and fabrics that we're seeing in this gallery. Very inspiring stuff!!

I agree! It's like having a bunch of little art quilts for your coffee/tea!

Lovely work ladies!  Now off to work on mine!

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

You're welcome to come over anytime! Especially since said scrap bins are organized now! This was my first time making any kind of Flying Geese (even though they're faux and made with half square triangles lol!)

If anyone wants to look at more awesome mug rugs, HippieKender has a wonderful wists! Grin

That is such a great idea, kind of what I've been thinking too. A la Teesha Moore with multi coloured whip stitching to join them all. Wonder how they'd hold up...
