I mde this for my dog last year from a pattern that was given to me several years ago for a dog that died before I made it. This dog wouldn't wear it last year, she just wanted to chew on it, but she tolerates it fine now. We only put it on her when it's really cold out, which it's been a lot this winter. Inside is maroon fleece, outside is that prequited stuff. I modified it a bit by making an opening for her harness, and used velcro for the chest and belly straps. My sewing's not great but it doesn't show much..

She looks very pretty and sporty now  Cheesy She's a nice looking pup!

I live in winter 7 - 8 months of the year and it gets up to -50 in some areas around us (and colder further out) but our doggies don't wear coats, just "booties/sockies" (lots of dogs do wear coats here though lol).  I sewed 3 pairs of fleece sockies this winter for the new boy we adopted before Christmas...when it gets below - 17/18 then he wears his sockies outside...they looks so cute in them but it's very functional because the pads on their feet ice up so quick outside in this weather, especially since he likes to go on a few walks a day lol

I just made a coat for my dog with a similar pattern I designed.  This was super helpful because it showed me that what I was imagining would actually work.  I'll be posting what I made soon.

Your pup is absolutely adorable in his coat!
