This is only my second attempt at making a quilt, the first was a wall hanging for my mum.

My friends were having a baby and I decided a week before she was due that I wanted to make her a personalised quilt.

Very scary for me as I've never given anything I've sewed as a gift before (mum doesn't count, she has to love it Tongue) and because I had given myself such a tight time frame, I was pretty worried about how it would turn out.

All in all, I'm happy with how it looked! My friends loved it which is the main thing, and while there were a few errors here and there, I think they just added to the whole uniqueness of it!

Next time I make one of these, I'm giving myself more than a week!

Thanks for looking Smiley Any comments / critique welcomed!

Sweet. I hope the mum appreciates it enough that it doesn't entirely wear out and it can become an heirloom.

Thanks everyone!!

Antidigger - I'm pretty sure she is using another quilt for every day use so it should last Smiley

Very cute.  Are the owls embroidered or fabric panels?  Either way, it is very charming.

This is very sweet  I have been wanting to do this.  I think I will make one for myself before I make one for someone else.

The owls are from a panel Smiley I was going to quilt around each owl too but I decided less is more, and just went around the square in the end!
