My friend dragged me to her craft room the last time I came over, pointed to a fake leather bag full of yarn and said "do you want any of this?" how do you say no to free yarn!!!! So I took it (even the kinda weird one that neither of us really like) but I told her that I would make something for her out of some of it.
I might also mention that she is a twilight fan, though not one of those crazy "oh my god we HAVE to go to Forks to see where a fictional book with fictional characters are from" kinda people (I might also point out that Stephanie Meyers is from Arizona but you don't see people flocking there for twilight do you!?!)

*Yes I have been to Forks, but in my defense we were camping on the Olympic Coast and its the only town with a grocery store in quite a vicinity. And all those twi-freaks scare me more than real vampires and werewolves!!

Okay enough ranting...Pictures!!

I really like how they came out and will probably be making another pair or 10 (depending on who sees them and begs me to make a pair)

the pattern came from http://notlikethepicture.blogspot.com/2009/12/alice-mitts-pattern.html

Thanks for looking

lol first I love your Twilight rant. Second I really love the mitts!

Thank you for the link, I have fingerless gloves on my list this year but until now I hadn't found a pattern I like.

OOh, i always wanted a pair of fingerless gloves. But here in Mauritius, it does not get so cold for you to need gloves... If people see me wearing gloves, they'll say 'You're sick? wearing gloves in this hot weather!'

I have been dying to make some fingerless gloves. I taught myself how to crochet and knit specifically to make some. This is the first pattern that I've loved enough to dare making. I'm going to get started on a pair later today. Thanks for an incredible pattern!

As an aside, I agree with every Twilight statement you made Smiley

Thanks everybody!
Please don't get me wrong I do like the books (I have read them all more than once) they are especially good for what they are, which is juvenile fiction. And I have no problem with the town of forks taking people's money because they are obsessed with what amounts to a semi-fictional place (forks is an old logging town and they have been going downhill for a while now with the downturn in economy) it's really just the crazy people I have a problem with, oh and the "vampire treaty boundary line" sign on the fire danger board in La Push!

I too love the books, and these kind of people really freak me out. It's like edward plush? I need one. Jacob shoes? I need a pair! Volturi shirts? I need the set! Come on, they are freaky! Can't they just love the books like they were meant to be? *No offense intended*
