Mug Rug for Pets

I've been looking at all of the great mug rugs posted lately, and have been wanting to try one.  It occurred to me that if they are upscaled a bit, they could make a fantastic washable mat for under pet food dishes.  I think I'm right, don't you?



This one's going to a new home, but our new cat Bindi discovered me taking a photo.  I think she needs one of her own!

So cute! I love this idea!! Our doxies have little bowls and like to make messes. This would be perfect for them.

However, if I want to make one for our Great Danes it would have to be the size of a twin sized quilt .

What a fantastic idea.  Stylish and functional.  May I ask if you used any special padding to make it?  Ive never made one, but after seeing this am very tempted to.

Thanks so much for the nice comments, everyone!  I didn't use any batting for the middle.  I figured it just needed to soak up water droplets and the occasional food spill.

Thanks EkkaGrrl!  She's only 6 months old, it's hard to get a decent photo of her.  She's either tearing around the house or snuggled under a pile of blankets.
