I FINALLY watched Part 1 tonight and it has officially become my favorite movie of the series (minus one particular scene).  I would totally love to do this swap, but as a Mysophobe (person with a fear of germs) and a non-baker/cook (I can screw up instant pudding and chocolate chip cookies with the worst of them), I'm weary of the homemade snack part.  I'm all about store bought.

I'm totally excited about the second part! I'm afraid to dress up/wear a scarf, it would embarrass my SO, but I wish I had a scarf to wear! (and friends that are comfortable with me being my weird self!) I want to be in on this swap! 

I read this and laughed.  I saw Order of the Phoenix with an SO while I was wearing my Gryffindor t-shirt, Gryffindor jewelry, and red fingerless gloves.  he was embarrassed, but I didn't care.    if he didn't like it, he didn't have to go with me.  and when I saw Half-Blood Prince, I was by myself wearing my Gryffindor hoodie, Gryffindor jewelry, and my red fingerless gloves.  if I had the whole costume (and gods do I wish I did, but my sewing is limited to bags/purses/things with easy sewing) I'd wear it when I'm NOT going to see a HP movie.  lol.  but that's only if it's like a handmade costume, not a fake looking store bought one.

oh, and I passed on the first round because I wasn't in the mood for a HP swap at the time for some reason.  after doing the OTHPT2 swap and seeing DH1, I'm up for another HP swap.

When I first saw this swap I was thinking it would be cool to craft some kind of fake snack (a plush chocolate frog, a clay liquorice wand, etc) as I'm diabetic and sweet things are definitely not my friends, but then read the rules and saw it had to be real sweets (and given the idea behind the swap totally makes sense) so I was weary of the snack part too, but was told that as long as it has some form of craftiness (home made labels/packaging to look like Potterverse sweets, etc) that it would still count, which works for me because I'm definitely not crafty in the kitchen. So maybe you could ask to be paired up with another non-cooker?

Krafty, as Noxika pointed out, some folks in the last swap made labels for bought candy. Join us but specify in your q'aire that you need only store-bought candy.

Re: diabetic, there are decent sugar free recipes and if it is the small it would fit in a snack value. My group did some of these for 1/2 Blood Prince. I am going with a group and figured my snack would get passed out to not tempt me to spike my bg level. I'll try to remember to search and post some of the substitutes after work.

I'm not sure you understand just how much time went into sorting and partnering last time!  Every single time someone joined the swap I added not only their user name, shipping preferences, smoking habits and allergies into my spreadsheet, but also how many swaps they had done before, how often they post, their crafting skill level & best crafts, what they desired most, their house, whether or not they enjoyed AVPM & PPP, and then any additional notes they mentioned (like dietary concerns, etc.).   THEN, I pre-sorted into basic categories, like international swappers, international shippers, allergies & pets...  

And even with all of that it took Ex_Gratia and I several hours of non-stop work partnering.  All while her boyfriend was sitting there asking if they could leave yet.     And sadly this time I won't have Ex_Gratia (or Pinkleo) here to help!  If we hit 100 swappers, then I want to borrow someones house elf for the afternoon!
